Every year, the Choose Clean Water Conference gathers individuals from local, state, and national nonprofits, elected officials, government agencies, and businesses to discuss ways these different sectors can work together toward our collective goal–clean water. This conference is a great opportunity for our Coalition members to learn about innovative restoration approaches from experts, engage in discussions with other attendees from different parts of the watershed, and see on-the-ground examples of local work.

The next Choose Clean Water Conference is gathering May 18-20, 2026 at Lancaster Marriott at Penn Square in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

This year’s conference theme is The Pursuit of Clean Water. With a new Bay Agreement in hand, we are embarking on a new chapter where we can build upon past success and aim even higher. While the past year has brought many challenges to the clean water community throughout the Chesapeake Bay region, the 2026 Choose Clean Water Conference is gathering at a special place and time.

As America celebrates its 250th birthday, this conference provides the opportunity to reflect the bold vision and ideals of our founders in our work for clean water. The Declaration of Independence includes the audacious sentiment of providing every American the right to “life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” All these years later, we recognize that water is life, celebrate our freedom to make a difference, and recommit to pursuing clean water for the benefit of all people and future generations.

We are now accepting proposals to present 20-minute lightning rounds, 45-minute sessions, 90-minute workshops, and field trips. The proposal deadline is January 9, 2026.
