Introducing the Coalition's New Communications Intern Rosey Pasco

My name is Rosey Pasco (she/her/hers) and I am very excited to begin my role as Communications Intern for the Choose Clean Water Coalition!

I recently graduated from Dickinson College with a BA in Sociology, along with minors in Political Science and Film & Media Studies. Although my time on campus was disrupted by Covid, I still had many exciting opportunities like going abroad to Bologna, Italy. During the last four years I have formed relationships with local leaders to cultivate skills in civic action, local engagement, and social justice.

Last semester I was a Marketing and Communications Coordinator for the Center of Civic Learning & Action. This gave me the opportunity to interview members in the community on topics like bilingual signage access and reentry programs for incarcerated individuals. In the past, I have done sustainability research on the benefits of solar panels and worked with nonprofits to meet their constituent’s communications needs.

I grew up in the small, rural town of Mount Airy, Maryland and moved to Annapolis in 2011. Consequently, I spent much of my childhood going to nature centers and picking produce from nearby orchards, while in Annapolis I learned to kayak. More recently, I edited a series of documentaries on the founding of the Conodoguinet Creek Water Association. From this I learned more of how reliant community members are on the watershed.

As a result, I decided to pursue further work with environmental justice and preservation, so others can enjoy the same experiences that I had. I love nature photography, have a passion for hammocking, and am grateful to join an organization that supports these endeavors.
