Chesapeake Bay Community Loses Scientific, Restoration Leader

(ANNAPOLIS, MD)—Dr. Beth McGee, Chesapeake Bay Foundation's Director of Science and Agricultural Policy, passed away Sunday. In response, Choose Clean Water Coalition Acting Director Mariah Davis issued the following statement:

"The passing of Dr. Beth McGee is a huge loss for the Bay community. A long-time staffer at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, Beth was a highly respected member of the Choose Clean Water Coalition's Steering Committee and helped guide and inform the Coalition's strategies and decisions on science and policy. Not only was Beth incredibly smart, thoughtful, and passionate in her work for clean water, she was also known for her kindness, affability, and warmth.

"We will miss Beth and hope to honor her legacy by leaving clean rivers and streams for future generations."

The Choose Clean Water Coalition is an organization that harnesses the collective power of more than 280 local, state, regional and national groups to advocate for clean rivers and streams in all communities in the Chesapeake region.
